Connecticut Young Republicans (CTYR) elected Lauren E. Casper of West Hartford this week as its new Chairman.

CTYR is comprised of a group of GOP activists under the age of 40 who have become crucial for Republicans across Connecticut.

Casper, a native of Pennsylvania, has served as Vice Chairman under Chairman Brian Gwozdz who called Casper, “the perfect choice to lead the next generation of Republican leaders.”

CTYR, which unanimously supported Casper, also made other appointments including Shaun Woodward as Vice- Chairman, Elissa Voccola of Shelton to National Committeewoman, and Erika Pocock of Southington to Treasurer.

State Representative Rob Sampson, R-Wolcott, said “Casper and her team are emerging at a critical time in our state. I look forward to supporting their efforts to mobilize young people to get Republicans elected in November.”

“This is a critical but exciting time to be a Republican,” said Casper. “Our goal is to help elect Republicans and keep Republicans elected. We are ready to make that happen.”
