Working Toward Victory on Election Day

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

Dear Friends:

Welcome to the new official website of the Connecticut Republican Party! The new website is just one part of our comprehensive effort to keep you informed and updated as we steam toward victory in the critically important November elections. Never have we had more at stake in Connecticut. With Mitt Romney at the top our our ticket and Linda McMahon leading a tight race for the U.S. Senate, our Republican base is energized, excited and working hard to bring home Republican wins up and down the ticket. We have a great shot at capturing the open Congressional seat in the 5th District. Andrew Roraback gives us our best chance in many years to win this nationally-targeted race. We have strong candidates and great ground games in all of our other Congressional races.

Let’s face it: Connecticut has been about as blue a state as you can get. But the failed policies of the Democrats in Hartford and Washington are catching up with them. Governor Malloy’s approval ratings are in the low 40 percent range – a political death knell for an incumbent. The massive, record-breaking tax increases in Hartford have voters of every stripe up in arms. The massive government overreach in Washington with Obamacare has made millions of Americans realize that the Democrats stand for one thing: BIG GOVERNMENT — and all the taxes that go to support BIG GOVERNMENT!

Most importantly, the utter failure of the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress to solve our economic woes or create new jobs has left millions without hope. The President ran on a message of hope and change four years ago. And after four years of failed Obama policies, what we are left with is the hope that we CAN achieve real change – but only by electing Republicans!

Last week’s National Republican Convention was a showcase of new vision, new direction, new solutions and real hope rather than the empty promises of the last four years. I know Mitt Romney’s message is resonating with voters. Polling in battleground states — and even in our own blue Connecticut — show the momentum building towards a huge Republican victory on November 4th.

I know you will continue to be a key part of helping to restore America to its rightful place — as a place of economic opportunity, prosperity and success. This is the greatest country on the face of the earth, as it has been for 250 years. We have allowed it to get off track by electing the wrong people from the wrong party, but that is all about to change over the next 9 weeks. The next two-plus months are going to be incredibly exciting! Please stay tuned by keeping in touch with us on our new website. On to victory!
